The Dehumanization of America

I recently had the joy of appearing in Traffic Court. Literally hundreds of people, one by one, appear before the judges in multiple courtrooms to plead their cases, trying to avoid an $80 or more penalty, because a car registered in their name was caught on camera not abiding 100% by the letter of the law.

It was made perfectly clear time and again that the court didn't care who drove the car. The owner of the car may have been guilty of nothing more than letting someone who needed it...

Pastors Christmas Letter 2015

                                    Advent / Christmas 2015

Dear Ones:

This greeting is for all who have been a beneficiary of the ministry of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Our Savior New American School.

I write this as I am in forced homeboundness, recovering from hip replacement surgery.  So I have opportunity to reflect on God’s blessings, past and present, and dream of the future under His continuing grace.

    It has been 30 plus...

                            NOVEMBER 8:  SMART PHONE SUNDAY
When it comes to modern technology, I know I'm behind the times and getting behinder with each passing year--or month or day.  I don't have a smart phone.  My cellphone is about as dumb and cheap as it is possible to be in this day and age.  I don't do Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., and I barely know how to receive and send email.  To me hash tag is a price tag of a side order of hash browns.  To me...

Pastors Article on Liberalism April 2015

Liberalism is chic as long as it rests securely on a foundation of conservative traditional beliefs, but when the foundation no longer holds the country together, benign secular socialism is unmasked for the destructive and unsustainable force it is.

Pastors Response to Same Sex Marriage

In Response to a Request from the Times of Middle Country Newspaper on the Same-Sex Marriage Ruling Rev. Ronald Stelzer, Pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Centereach writes:

I would say what Jesus said, “Haven’t you read that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female and said for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh?”  (Matthew 19:4-5)

            Do they...

I strongly encourage all to see The War Room, a recently released motion picture.  Without exaggerating this is the most powerful, worthwhile, riveting movie I have ever seen.  It contains numerous strong positive messages and excellent acting in a captivating storyline.  It’s appropriate for the entire family and is worth sharing with anyone you want to positively...

It is becoming increasingly popular and hip to believe that we are all part of God, that eventually we will be absorbed into the cosmic god like a drop is absorbed into the ocean.  Shirley MacLaine and Oprah Winfrey are two of the prophetesses of this New Age religion of Cosmic Humanism.

As Christians we do not believe that we are a part of god, but that God has become one of us in the incarnation of His Son.  When Jesus was conceived by the Holy...
